Staffordshire Rugby – RFU Council Member Election

Staffordshire Rugby Union Member Clubs, Election of the Staffordshire RFU Council Member.

The SRU RFU Council Member Election is well underway, and to remind you that in accordance with RFU requirements, the election must be completed by 31 March 2026.

To enable clubs and their members have a fair opportunity to engage with the candidates, here are the details of the of the husting and voting process.

To reaffirm, the following candidates are standing for election.
• Bezus, Mike – Proposer, Trentham Rugby – Seconded, Leek Rugby
• Davies, Becky – Proposer, Eccleshall Rugby – Seconded, Essington Rugby
• Williams, Becky – Proposer, Lichfield Rugby – Seconded, Rugeley Rugby

Virtual Husting
To maximise the opportunity for clubs to hear from each candidate, we have decided an online husting will be held via ZOOM.

Date: 4 March 2026 Time: 18.30 to 20.30

Full Registration details will be circulated shortly, including how to register but will be limited to 3 individual registrations per club. Additionally, the Husting will be recorded and made available to all shortly afterwards, via email to clubs and SRU website.

To ensure a fair and structured session, clubs are asked to submit any questions for the candidates in advance.

Voting
The voting is open to all Staffordshire Rugby Union member clubs on a 1 vote 1 club basis.
Voting will open: 14 March 2026 at 09.00
Voting will closes: 21 March 2026 at 20.00

Voting will take place via an independent voting system operated by Choice Voting

Each club will have one vote and the voting instructions will be sent prior to when voting opens.
The ability to vote on behalf of your club, will be provided to 1 person at your club, via their usual email address. Unless otherwise informed, the email address to be used with be your Honorary Secretary.
