Resereve league cups

The cup competition is designed to give 2nd and 3rd teams, (and low-level 1st teams), playing in the RFU Leagues and Staffordshire Merit Tables a cup competition to play for as they don’t qualify for the main end of season cups.  The competition shall be played in three seeded tiers depending on where teams stand in the leagues.  All sides will play a minimum of 2 games over a period of 3 weeks.

If a game cannot be played due to weather or unfit pitches another venue should be sought failing this a panel will decide the results so that the knock out stages can continue the following week.

If a draw occurs the team that scores the most tries will be deemed the winners, if this is tied, the team that scored the most converted tries will be deemed the winner, if this is tied the team that scores the most first half tries will be deemed the winner, if this is tied the game will be decided by a kicking competition.

Each team may have a squad of 20 players who must be registered at that club, they must not have played more than 6 games for the club’s first team that season. Unlimited changes are allowed during the match as per RFU competition rules.

Wherever possible if 1st game at home then 2nd should be away. If both away teams were to win in any particular game then the home team will be determined randomly.

In each pool first round losers go left and play off for the plate. First round winners go right and play off for the cup.
