As I’m sure you are aware there is to be no relegation as such at the end of this season and the RFU is concerned that certain clubs might try to take advantage of that fact.
It is believed that certain clubs may decide not to honour away games as they don’t fancy the away journey. This would be judged an unjustifiable postponement with the resulting points deduction. The RFU does not wish clubs to believe that since there is no relegation that the defaulting club can take the points deduction hit without feeling the consequences.
It has therefore been decided that after the transfer deadline (Friday February 18th 2021) any points deduction will be carried forward to season 2022-2023 and not be taken off in 2021-2022.
Please make your clubs aware of this when a points deduction is likely for any misdemeanour. It may (hopefully!) make them think twice before they commit any violation of game regulations.
