Future Competitions Structure Lower XVs & The Touch Union

The Future Competitions Structure Implementation Group’s Lower XVs workstream is in the process of finalising the entry criteria for Lower XV entry into the men’s league structure for the 2022/23 season. The group intends to deliver the finalised criteria to clubs before the end of the year.

In preparation for this, the group is advising that part of the criteria will include the performance and stability of the club’s Lower XV teams in the 2021/22 season. Being able to demonstrate the viability of the Lower XV teams for an entire season will be beneficial for any clubs looking to potentially enter any Lower XV teams into the league structure for the 2022/23 season.

A reminder that all Lower XV entries for the 2022/23 season will be subject to an entry process, including fulfilling the Lower XV entry criteria.

As previously communicated, O2 Touch will be known as The Touch Union from Wednesday 1 September and a few changes will be introduced to the rules based on players’ feedback.

Changes will include flexibility so that rules can be adapted to best suit your club or players.
