WOODEN SPOON – Charity Walk

Burntwood RFC  are raising money for the Wooden Spoon Charity with a sponsored Walk on 1st July.
As most of our members are aware, the club’s designated charity for season 2022-23 is Wooden Spoon Charity, the children’s charity of rugby. To raise money for this worthy cause, Club President Rob Forsyth, along with other members of the club will be taking part in a sponsored walk on 1st July 2023🚶‍♀️
The route will be from Walsall Rugby Club, starting at approximately 8 am, to Tamworth Rugby Club for mid-afternoon, on to Lichfield Rugby Club and then back to our club by early evening. The reasoning behind the route ties in with the club’s 50th Anniversary. The Walsall and Tamworth clubs proposed and seconded our affiliation to the RFU and the SRU 50 seasons ago, and our first match was at Lichfield. The walk covers around 27 miles in total.
We welcome all club members, player and supporter to come and take part in the walk, in some way shape or form! Whether its joining Rob and co for the whole walk, or just tagging along on one of the legs, everyone is welcome! Please speak to Rob Forsyth for more details and timings.
