Staffordshire Senior Cup Final

A closely-fought county cup final between two Regional First Division clubs with the result in doubt right until the final whistle.

Burton came out firing and took a two score lead early in the first half, but  Leek that managed to claw themselves back into the game, going into half time with a 15-10 lead.

This lead was reversed again soon after the half as Burton stretched to 24 points, but a score from Leek set up a frantic final few minutes with the boys in blue and white looking for a decisive score.

Unfortunately for Leek it wasn’t to be and Burton took the win 24-20.

Congratulations to the Crofters and commiserations to the Leek boys. The match has surely set both teams  up for a successful league campaign in their respective  Regional 1 divisions.
