Please note changes to Approval of Declaration

In a change to the process in 2019, each designated Golden Role holder that is required to approve the declaration will receive an email asking them to login to GMS to approve your club’s submission following submission of the online declaration. This has been updated following feedback and to make the process easier for volunteers to administer and removes the need to print, physically sign and then attach the declaration.

Payment of Players declaration will be open between the 1 March 2020 and 30 June 2020.  As set out in RFU Regulation 7.4.1, all clubs whose men’s first XV team plays at Level 3 and below, and who wish to be entitled to RFU Benefits in the 20-21 season, must submit a Declaration within the window in respect of any Gross Payments of Material Benefits paid or payable between 1 June 2019 of the previous year and 31 May 2020.

Please remember clubs will be free to exceed the Payment Thresholds laid out in Regulation 7 but in doing so will render the club ineligible for RFU Benefits. For more information or any queries please contact paymentofplayers@rfu.com
