Staffordshire’s Honda Volunteers
This year has seen increased nominations for Staffordshire volunteers: all 27 clubs and 33 volunteers were nominated for Staffordshire’s Valued Volunteers Dinner and 99 volunteers nominated for the Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards.
Four Young Ambassadors (Abi, Kobie, Tegan and Evie) from Burton RUFC attended the Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards this year. It was lovely for them to watch and be inspired by those receiving their awards
These volunteers have given us their spare time, expertise and help to their clubs. They are the foundation of our clubs and ensure smooth running in all aspects and roles of grassroots rugby.
Congratulations to Rob McDermott from Leek and the group nomination from Wolverhampton (Gareth Price, Richard Drewett, Garth Bridges, Lloyd Bridges and Jay Guest)who were nominated finalists by the RFU and going to Twickenham with the other finalists from the rest of the CBs.
Also presented to everyone was a Staffordshire Centenary Scarf or tie and pin badge.
County Volunteer Coordinator, Danielle Bailey, organised the event superbly and was supported on the evening by Rhi Greenway, Becky Davies, Eric Field and John McDermott.
