Clubs will no doubt be considering the long awaited return to a modified form of contact rugby.
The situation is complicated by Staffordshire and Stoke being a Tier 3 area, almost surrounded by other (but separate) Tier 3 areas, and by the fact that some of our clubs are located in a different Covid area.
The rules and regulations on crossing borders are clear – you can’t – and include a ban on individual players who live in one area travelling to a club in a different area to play or train.
We have raised a number of queries with the RFU around whether there might be some flexibility and we will be in touch again as soon as we have some definite answers.
