Honda Volunteer Awards

The Honda Volunteer of the Year Awards is a nationwide initiative that gives anyone involved in rugby the opportunity to nominate a volunteer at a grassroots rugby club, or wider rugby family, who they think deserves recognition for their commitment to the game over the last 12 months, and have been made possible thanks to the partnership with Honda.

 

Nationally 1,180 nominations were received across 485 clubs/organisations.

Staffordshire received 47 nominations from across 21 clubs.

 

The Staffordshire local celebration event took place on Friday 23rd June at Holdcroft Motor Group Holdcroft Honda Cobridge.

The evenings participants received awards for being recognised in the following three categories : Unsung Hero,Challenging Spirit & Game for All.

Three overall winners were announced on the evening :

Unsung Hero – Melissa Royster Cannock Rugby Club Challenging Spirit – Steve Fryer Leek Rugby Football Club Game for All – Danielle Bayley Stafford Rugby Club

The overall Staffordshire Honda Volunteer of the Year awarded by an RFU Selection panel went to Danielle Bayley.

Danielle now goes forward to the National Finals and we wish her all the very best of luck as she represents us all at a Black Tie Dinner down at Twickenham Stadium on the 1st September.
