The Touch Union & vaccination reminder
The Touch Union Rules
The Touch Union rules will be published here tomorrow, Wednesday 1 September. As previously communicated, a few changes will be introduced to the rules based on players’ feedback.
Changes will include flexibility so that rules can be adapted to best suit your club or players
The Touch Union, which replaces O2 Touch from 1 September, can be played as a standalone Touch Rugby format, or as a way to introduce or reintroduce players to rugby before progressing to a contact format.
You can be the first to find out all the information by joining The Touch Union Facebook group.
Please email O2Touch@rfu.com for any queries.
Vaccination reminder
All those aged 18 and over can now book their Covid vaccination through the NHS booking service. 16 – 17 year olds can either visit their GP or find their nearest walk-in clinic.
Whether people think they may already have had Covid or not, the vaccine is essential to give them and others around them the best protection. So, it’s vital that as many people as possible come forward for the jab.
The first dose of the vaccine offers good levels of protection, but to get maximum protection everyone must get a second dose, so the NHS are urging everyone to come back for their second appointment after 8 weeks.
To help rugby clubs support getting this message to their community and get more 16–29-year old’s vaccinated, assets are available below that can be used on your club’s social media channels, as well as a downloadable poster for the clubhouse and imagery that can be used on digital screens.
All assets are available here and include:
- Social Media image and suggested copy
- Poster
- Digital Screen image
